EPSILON PSI EPSILON ACTIVE CHAPTER NEWS!

Hello everyone!

To EYE Active Chapter recently hosted a live band at the EYE House on Saturday, June 3rd.   A bit of a history lesson in a moment, but the important facts first.  The band was IMORTAL, fronted by Zak Bogosian, an Opt III/EYE member.  The band consisted of Zak, his brother Alex, and their best friend Trevor on drums.  The band has been playing together since the three members were in grade school.

IMORTAL was joined on stage later in the evening by Mike Raies and Pat Dollenmayer, who all of us know as part of the original EYE band, BAD HABITS.

**Historical Fact Check: Okay, so BAD HABITS was not officially an EYE band per se, but given their membership, and the power invested in me by me, I have no regrets whatsoever in claiming ownership for our beloved organization!**

So ... a quick history lesson.  BAD HABITS formed in 1987 (Mike, Tony Fenton, and Kenny Kuhn were three of the original members), and "debuted" at what was then the OSU Optometry Talent Show/Contest held at the (now long gone) Drake Union.  The Talent Show was a regular event for several years at the College, always on the night before Veterans Day.  Just so you know, BAD HABITS did not win that night.  A month or two later (late 1987 or early 1988), BAD HABITS played the EYE House.  We believed they were paid in beer that night.  And the rest is history.

Mike reminded me that BAD HABITS also played the EYE House in 1991, only this time on the back parking lot as part of a Beach Party.  This was the first time that Pat officially played with the band as a full member.  Remember that Pat actually played with several different bands during his days in Optometry school, including Sparks From The Wheel, Silent Rumour, and (I believe) White Rose.  At least one of these bands, Sparks From The Wheel, was an original music band.  And yes, I have the Sparks From The Wheel CD, called "damage" (all small case).

We believe that IMORTAL was the first live band to play the House since BAD HABITS.  And a big reason that was possible was the work by Zak, Tallon, and many EYE members rehabilitating the House over the previous couple of months.
